Custom Take-offs

Earthwork Take-offs

DirtLogic treats earthwork take-offs alot differently than most. We have two types of earthwork take-offs, Custom Take-offs and DirtStore Take-offs. A Custom Take-off is any project that is not open for public bid or only has a few select contractors on a bid list.

These projects typically will not be posted on our DirtStore or made known to the public via DirtLogic. A 'CUSTOM' take-off is strictly between our client and DirtLogic. A DirtStore project is open for public bid or mass bid list and listed on a local or national plan center, which is posted on our DirtStore.

How It Works?

Earthwork Take-offs: the process of turning a 2-D grading plan into a 3-D 'earthwork take-off' used by a contractor to submit project bids. The take-off compares the existing topography with the proposed design/sub-grade to provide precise cut and fill calculations.

DirtLogic's Take-off services allow for grading accuracy within about a hundredth of an inch. This means that a contractor looking at a raw piece of land will be able to know, almost to the cubic yard, how much dirt will need to be moved away or added, for construction to begin.

Alternates Disclaimer: DirtLogic DirtStore Take-offs only apply to the base bid. Any alternates that are shown on the plans we consider outside of a base bid take-off and will require an additional cost to include the alternates in the scope of work. It is important to inform DirtLogic you would like alternates included in the scope of work at the time of requesting a price quote and DirtLogic will include it in the price.

Over-Excavation Disclaimer: DirtLogic DirtStore Take-offs only apply to the base bid. Any over-excavation which is outside the base bid is considered an extra cost. Please let DirtLogic know that you would like to include 'Over-Ex' in the scope of work so we can price the take-off accordingly.

Addendum Disclaimer: Please note that the takeoffs are only current to the date that they are posted on our site and may not reflect any/all Addendum changes that were issued as we are not responsible for these changes and can't as a company absorb those costs.
